Family Fun Day 2026 – I Am The Storm Mackenzie Paul Memorial Scholarship

Family Fun Day 2026: A Day of Fun, Community, and Giving Back

Today, families from across the Eastern Upper Peninsula have a unique opportunity to enjoy some of our region’s most beloved attractions while making a meaningful impact in the community.

The fifth annual Family Fun Day is taking place today, May 31, 2026, bringing together Famous Soo Locks Boat Tours and Sault Historic Sites for a day dedicated to family fun and charitable giving. In exchange for a donation, EUP residents can experience a Famous Soo Locks Boat Tour, visit the Museum Ship Valley Camp, explore the Tower of History, and discover the River of History Museum—all while supporting the “I AM THE STORM” Mackenzie (Kalchik) Paul Memorial Scholarship.

More Than a Day of Entertainment

Family Fun Day demonstrates what can happen when local organizations work together to support a cause greater than themselves. This year’s event benefits a scholarship established in memory of Mackenzie (Kalchik) Paul, helping future local students pursue higher education while honoring a legacy of strength, kindness, and determination.

For local businesses and nonprofit organizations, giving back is more than a responsibility—it’s an investment in the future of the community. Events like Family Fun Day create opportunities for residents to come together, support one another, and contribute to causes that will have a lasting impact for years to come.

Why Community Partnerships Matter

Strong communities are built through collaboration. When local businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders join forces, they can create experiences that not only entertain but also inspire and support meaningful causes.

Today’s Family Fun Day is a perfect example. By opening their doors to local residents and encouraging donations to a scholarship fund, Famous Soo Locks Boat Tours and Sault Historic Sites are helping transform a day of family memories into an opportunity for educational support and community growth.

These partnerships strengthen community connections, encourage local involvement, and remind us that businesses are often at their best when they serve not only customers, but the communities they call home.

The Importance of Giving Back

Local businesses play a vital role in the health and success of our region. Whether through charitable donations, sponsorships, volunteer efforts, or hosting community events, giving back helps create a stronger, more vibrant place for everyone.

Supporting local causes:

Creates opportunities for future generations.
Strengthens community pride.
Encourages collaboration among organizations.
Builds lasting relationships between businesses and residents.
Keeps charitable support focused on local needs.

When businesses invest in their communities, everyone benefits.
