Family Fun Day for EUP Residents – Sunday, May 19

Famous Soo Locks Boat Tours and Sault Historic Sites invite Eastern Upper Peninsula (EUP) residents to their second annual Family Fun Day on Sunday, May 19. For a per site donation of money or pet food, all EUP residents with proper identification can visit the Museum Ship Valley Camp, Tower of History, River of History Museum and enjoy a Famous Soo Locks Boat Tour.

Family Fun Day for EUP Residents – Sunday, May 19, 2024

(Sault Ste. Marie) May, 2024 – Famous Soo Locks Boat Tours and Sault Historic Sites invite Eastern Upper Peninsula (EUP) residents to their second annual Family Fun Day on Sunday, May 19. For a per site donation of money or pet food, all EUP residents with proper identification can visit the Museum Ship Valley Camp, Tower of History, River of History Museum and enjoy a Famous Soo Locks Boat Tour.

“We hope Family Fun Day will encourage EUP adults and children to enjoy our attractions while supporting the Chippewa County Animal Shelter,” said Lacie Wojnaroski, Executive Director of Sault Historic Sites.

Located on Mackinaw Trail in Soo Township, the Chippewa County Animal Shelter provides animals of all types and sizes to find a suitable new home.

“We welcome all EUP families to take advantage of this unique opportunity on Sunday, May 19 to explore the rich history of our area aboard our classic lock tours,” said Scott LaBonte, Famous Soo Locks Boat Tours General Manager. “We’re excited to feature an additional location for Bird’s Eye Café at our ticket office…”

On May 19, Valley Camp, Tower of History, and River of History Museum are open 11AM to 5PM. Located next to the Valley Camp, Famous Soo Locks Boat Tours will operate tours at 10AM, 12:30PM and 3PM aboard its iconic yellow and blue tour boats. Visitors over age 16 will need proper identification to demonstrate EUP (Chippewa, Luce and Mackinac Counties) residency .
